Le Chat qui lit is a small business run by Peter and Jane Mickelborough at their property in a tiny hamlet called Pempoulrot, in the commune of Kergrist Moëlou in central Brittany.
We have a small secondhand bookshop on our property that was opened in 2004. In addition, we sell secondhand books on the internet.
In the bookshop, about one quarter of our stock are English books. These are mostly contemporary novels by a wide range of authors, from Jeffrey Archer and Jean Auel to Paul Theroux and Craig Thomas. In addition, we have a smattering of classics and a variable selection of non fiction.
About three quarters of our stock of books are in French. These include novels, both modern and classics, plus a large and varied selection of non-fiction. We sell the majority of our books via the internet, offering a rapid, careful service.
